Generally, these types of units suit drawn steel or aluminium tube up to about 40mm diameter - and mostly for tubes of 16mm, 19mm, 20mm, 25mm, and 30mm diameters
Tubes in this category are usually punched without a mandrel support inside the tube and the hole is usually right through both walls - but this can equally be one wall only.
Because no mandrel is employed, the tube takes a ‘countersink’ effect due to the force of the punch as it pierces the tube. This can be minimised by grinding the end of the punch with a point,
chisel, roof, or other shear angle
