It is preferable to punch tubular components after bending to make sure the holes for fixings and locations are accurately positioned.

Hydraulic punches can approach the tube at any convenient angle as long as ejection of the scraps is considered. Tube punching on a press in practical terms can only be punched in a vertical mode - so hydraulic units have a great advantage here.
